The Opportunity
After several years building new businesses at Emerald (now Forge), I was given an opportunity to take on a very different challenge: help strengthen the commercial organization at scale.
I knew the company, the brands, and many of the people, but this wasn't about launching one new business. It meant looking across a large and diverse portfolio and asking how we could become more consistent, modern, and effective while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and market knowledge that made individual brands successful.
In many ways, it brought together everything I had learned in the earlier chapters of my career.
What We're Building
The work has focused on creating a stronger commercial foundation across the organization: a more consistent sales operating system, clearer methodologies and playbooks, stronger pipeline management and forecasting, expanded sales enablement, improved coaching and accountability, and better use of platforms including Salesforce and Gong.
We've also continued pushing toward a more integrated approach to customers across events, sponsorships, content, digital media, and marketing services.
A large part of my role sits between strategy and execution. I work closely with executive leadership on where we're going while staying connected to sales leaders, sellers, customers, and the realities of what's happening in the market.
Transformation at this scale isn't one big announcement or initiative. It's hundreds of changes, conversations, decisions, and improvements that compound over time.
The Legacy
